Choreographed by the Other

During my artist-in-residence at ‘Het Vijfde Seizoen‘ in 2015, located within a psychiatric
institution, I established a dialogue with one patient investigating the communicative potential of
performative and game practices and their ability to disrupt a given power balance. Under the title
‘Choreographed by the Other’ (2015-2017), I realized a series of objects, video-encounters,
performances as well as a publication that all traced and challenged the tension between subjectivity and
top-down systems of control.
